The Logging Cabin

The Logging Cabin panels in the snow and on the pallet

Today the wind was a little lower and the sky more blue. We decided this was the day to dig out the Viesmann panels from the Logging Cabin. A few days ago, before the wind picked up we had placed them on all the outdoor furniture to dry. This did not turn out to well as the drifting snow covered them. Snow and ice was removed from the panels before they were stacked on an air force pallet to be moved to Kangerlussuaq either the 11th or 14th of August. It is satisfying to see an unorganized pile of 41 panels become a well ordered pallet.

What we did today:

  1. Built a pallet with the Logging Cabin panels.
  2. Documented boxes and pallets.
  3. Groomed snow drifts in camp.
  4. Continued to organize the timber sledge.
  5. Started to document in the kitchen.

Weather: Sunshine with patches of ground fog. Wind 14 kt dropping to 9 kt from W. Temperatures between -16°C and -8°C.
